Adding custom fields
Who is this article for?
Administrators who need to personalise user profiles and lesson properties.
Admin role is required.
This article explains how you can create personalised fields for user details and lesson properties using custom fields.
1. Accessing custom fields
To access custom fields:
- Go to Admin.
- Select Custom Fields.
You will be taken to the Custom Fields section with Users and Lessons tabs.
2. Adding a user field
To add a custom user field:
- Switch to the Users tab.
- Click Add.
- Fill out the form:
- Display Name - Enter the name of the additional field.
- Field ID - Automatically generated when you enter the display name.
- Description - Optionally add a description.
- Required - Tick this box to make the field mandatory.
- Self-Registration - Tick to show the field on the registration page.
- User List - Tick to show the field on the users page.
- Click Save.
3. Adding a lesson field
To add a custom lesson field:
- Switch to the Lessons tab.
- Click Add.
- Fill out the form:
- Display Name - Enter the name of the additional field.
- Field ID - Automatically generated when you enter the display name.
- Description - Optionally add a description.
- Click Save.
