Creating a lesson with video module
Who is this article for?
Admins and Editors who need to upload pre-recorded video lessons into Ideagen Learning.
Admin or Editor access is required.
This guide explains how to upload and configure a video module using existing video files in Ideagen Learning. Supported formats include MP4, MOV, and AVI, with a maximum file size of 400MB.
1. Steps
Start lesson creation
- Go to the menu option Manage, then select Lessons, and then select Create.
Add a video module
- On the Create Lesson page, click Add Module.
- Enter a name for the module.
- Select the option Upload a Video.
- Choose or drag the video file you want to upload.
Add more modules (optional)
- In the Edit Lesson screen, click Add Module to include additional content.
Edit module properties
- Click the Edit icon on a module to configure its settings.
- You can change or keep the module name.
- You can add a description to the module.
- You can decide if users can skip the module.
- You can download the uploaded video.
- You can replace the video while keeping the settings.
- You can delete the module from the lesson.
- Reorder modules
- Drag and drop modules to rearrange their order.
2. Preview and publish
- Click Preview to review the full lesson structure.
- Click Publish to make the lesson live.
After publishing, you can:
- Schedule the lesson manually or automatically.
- Add the lesson to the library like any other Ideagen Learning lesson.
3. Tips
- Ensure your video file is under 400MB before uploading.
- Use clear and descriptive module names for easier navigation.
- Preview the lesson before publishing to catch any issues early.
