Attribute filters allow users to narrow down visual data based on specific values, such as names, categories, or time ranges. Filters can be applied at the visual or dashboard level, depending on the data source.

Accessing the filter sidebar
- Visual filter sidebar:
- Click the filter icon on the visual.
- Or select Settings from the visual menu, then click the filter icon in the sidebar.
- Dashboard filter sidebar:
- Click the filter icon on the dashboard.
- Available only when all visuals use the same data source.
The Filters sidebar will display any filters currently applied.
1. Row tab
Use the Row tab to apply row-level filters. This is the default method for most visual types.
- Available for: All visuals except arc gauge, KPI chart, raw data table, histogram, and map markers (these only support row-level filters).
- Not available: Group tab in dashboard filters.
Steps to apply a row-level filter:
- Select the Row tab.
- Choose an attribute from the list.
- Three tabs will appear: Value, Wildcard, and Saved.
2. Value tab
Use this tab to filter by specific values.

|---|---|
| Operator | Choose Include or Exclude. For time-based data, use Between or Not Between. |
| Custom value | Enter a value in the Customize field and click Add. Uncheck to remove. |
| Available values | Select one or more values from the list. Use Select All to choose all. |
| Search bar | Type characters to narrow the list. If your value isn’t listed, enter the exact name and click the select icon to force it into the query. |
3. Wildcard tab
Use this tab to apply wildcard filters to match partial values or patterns.
4. Saved tab
Apply previously saved filters to visuals or dashboards.
- Visual filters sidebar: Tabs include Row, Group, and Saved.
- Dashboard filters sidebar: Tabs include Row and Saved only.
To apply a saved filter:
- Select the Saved tab.
- Choose a saved filter from the list.
- If none are available, create one using the Row tab.
Applying filters
After defining filter settings:
- Click Continue to confirm.
- Click Apply to activate the filter.
- Filters applied at the dashboard level affect all visuals using the same data source.
- Filters applied at the visual level affect only the selected visual.
