Installing a DT-ACMK2 access control panel
Who is this article for?
Users responsible for maintaining hardware.
No special access or permissions are required.
This DT-ACMK2 unit (DTxxxx) is pre-programmed based on the information provided at the time of order. Please ensure you use the card reader inputs and MOXA outputs exactly as outlined in this article.
1. Preparation
Use multi-core 22 AWG (or thicker) shielded security cable for reliable reads. The cable length between the card reader and access panel should not exceed 80 metres.
If installing multiple readers at one location, each must have a separate cable to prevent interference and maintain performance.
2. Installation
2.1. Card readers
Both swipe and keypad card readers communicate using the Wiegand protocol.
Each reader requires four connections back to the card reader inputs on the access panel:
12V+ (Red)
12V– (Black)
Data 0 (Green)
Data 1 (White)
Please ensure each connection is:
Securely connected
Properly isolated from the others
This helps avoid potential cross talk or signal interference at the cable join point and ensures reliable operation of the card reader system.
2.2. Card reader inputs
The card reader inputs are located on the bottom left-hand side of the access panel and are numbered 1 to 8.
Each reader input is connected via a breakout terminal block, labeled as follows:
12V+
12V–
GND
Data 1
Data 0
Each numbered block of terminals corresponds to an individual card reader input. Ensure connections are made accurately to the correct terminal group to maintain proper reader functionality.
2.3. Preconfigured card reader inputs
The following inputs have been preconfigured on this panel.
Ensure the relevant card reader is connected to the correct input:
Input 1 → Turnstile 1 – Entry
Input 2 → Turnstile 1 – Exit
Input 3 → Turnstile 2 – Entry
Input 4 → Turnstile 2 – Exit
Input 5 → Unused
Input 6 → Unused
Input 7 → Unused
Input 8 → Unused
Ensure connections are double-checked before powering the system to avoid configuration issues.
2.4. MOXA outputs
The MOXA outputs are located at the top left-hand corner of the access panel. These consist of six normally open (NO) relays, numbered R0 to R5.
Each relay is connected via terminal blocks labeled:
MOXA-RX-NO (Normally Open)
MOXA-RX-C (Common)
(Where X represents the relay number, e.g., R0, R1, etc.)
Each relay serves as an individual output to control an external device such as:
Boom gates
Turnstile (Entry/Exit)
Maglock doors (with special configuration)
For applications like maglock doors that require switched power, these relays can be configured as normally closed (NC). In such cases, the negative line is switched through the MOXA relay to enable or disable power.
Ensure correct relay configuration based on the connected device’s requirements.
2.5. Preconfigured MOXA outputs
The following MOXA outputs have been preconfigured on this panel.
Connect each relay output to the appropriate device being controlled:
MOXA 1 R0-NO/C → Turnstile 1 – Entry
MOXA 1 R1-NO/C → Turnstile 1 – Exit
MOXA 1 R2-NO/C → Turnstile 2 – Entry
MOXA 1 R3-NO/C → Turnstile 2 – Exit
MOXA 1 R4-NO/C → Unused
MOXA 1 R5-NO/C → Unused
Make sure devices are securely wired and tested after connection.
