It is possible to setup readings to flow down from an asset to child assets in the asset tree. This enables one set of readings to be utilised for triggering tasks in a number of individual asset components.  To set this up, the sub assets need to have an ‘Identical Trigger Code/s’ added to the asset readings form.

Component assets can inherit its parent’s reading/s if the trigger code in the asset readings table for the parent and child are identical. The component asset does not require any additional information such as All-Time, Meter Limit and Averages etc, to be set up. 

However, the All-time for a component needs to reflect the current reading which may be different to that of the parent.
