Configuring Single Sign-On (SSO) with GSuite

Administrators who need to integrate Ideagen Learning with GSuite for SSO.
Admin access to both Ideagen Learning and GSuite is required.
This article walks you through configuring Single Sign-On (SSO) between Ideagen Learning and GSuite using SAML 2.0. It includes plugin setup, SAML app creation, field mapping, and final configuration.
1. Creating a plugin
To create an Ideagen Learning plugin:
- Log in to Ideagen Learning as an Admin.
- Navigate to Admin.
- Go to Integrations.
- Select Plugins.
- Click Add Plugin.
- Select SAML 2.0.
- Enter a name for the plugin (e.g., Google) that will appear on the login screen.
2. Creating an app
To createa a SAML app:
- Open GSuite.
- Go to Apps.
- Select SAML apps.
- Click the Plus icon in the bottom-right.
- Select Setup My Own Custom App.
- Copy the Entity ID (do not use the SSO URL).
- Under Option 2, download the IDP metadata.
- Click Next.
- Name the application Ideagen Learning.
3. Configuring the plugin
To configure the plugin:
- Return to the Ideagen Learning tab.
- Paste the copied Entity ID into the Issuer URL field.
- Upload the IDP metadata file.
- Copy the Single Sign-On URL.
- Go back to the GSuite tab.
- Paste the Single Sign-On URL into both the ACS URL and Entity ID fields.
- Check the Signed Response checkbox.
4. Configuring field mapping
To configure fields:
- Go back to GSuite.
- Click Next.
- Click Add New Mapping.
- Configure the following:

5. Finalising the setup
To finalise the setup:
- Click Finish in GSuite.
- Return to Ideagen Learning.
- Enable Auto create new users if desired.
- Click Save to complete the integration.
