Adding a worker to the worker register

1. Overview
This article explains how to manually add a worker to the worker register and walks you through entering the key initial information required to create a new worker record.
By the end of this process, a new worker record will be added to the register.
You will learn how to:
- Start the process of adding a worker.
- Complete the short form.
- Add details under the worker details and contact details tabs.
2. Add a worker to the worker register
Go to the worker register, which is located under the people section in the menu bar.
The worker register displays all current workers in your organization, along with key information for each individual.
To add a new worker to the worker register, click Add.
A short form will appear, containing only the fields required to record the worker’s minimum mandatory information.
Fill out the form by completing all relevant fields:
- Enter the worker’s unique worker number, first name, and last name.
- Optionally, select the worker’s gender.
- Enter the hire date.
- Select the worker’s site from the organisation structure.
Once all fields are complete, click Save.
The worker has now been successfully added to the worker register, revealing additional fields across several new tabs.
Many of these tabs contain information you may want to record about a worker later.
In this guide, you will focus on recording key initial information in the worker details and contact details tabs.
In the employee information section, record key details about the worker and their role.
Enter the worker’s email address. This will be used by the system to automatically send relevant notifications or escalations.
Note: If your system allows workers to create their own passwords, the email address is mandatory to enable this feature.
- To attach a copy of the job description, click Attach file and select the relevant file from your computer.
