Managing mandatory Events fields in Ideagen Safety
Every business manages Events differently. Ideagen Safety allows your organisation to define which Event information is mandatory, ensuring critical data is always captured while still allowing flexibility for optional details.
⚙️ Settings
This feature is managed via Settings, which can be found under the profile icon toward the top of the screen.
Click to expand Events, then select Event Fields Mandatory.
📝 Event Mandatory Fields
The Event Mandatory Fields section displays a table of fields (by Event Type) that can be marked as mandatory or left optional.
Simply tick a field to make it mandatory, or untick to leave it optional.
Example: Case Number may be required for Injury and Illness Events but optional for Incidents and Near Misses.
Additional notes:
The Milestone Timer and Priority options can be hidden entirely for chosen Event Types.
Fields shown in solid grey do not apply to that Event Type and cannot be selected.
🔒 Sensitive Event Options
Define the minimum number of Sensitive Users who must be assigned visibility when reporting a Sensitive Event.
Reporters cannot submit the Event until this number is selected.
Sensitive Users may also receive notifications when:
A Sensitive Event they can view is updated
A related corrective action is updated
🔍 Standard Investigation Fields
Options here apply to fields in the Standard Investigation tab:
Choose which fields should be mandatory.
Decide if the ‘Investigation not required’ checkbox should be available.
Control whether assigned investigators are notified automatically:
Manual – A checkbox appears. If checked, the investigator is notified as soon as the form is saved.
Automatic – No checkbox appears. The investigator is always notified.
Never send – No checkbox appears. The investigator is never notified.
