Creation of a dashboard
Summary:
Dashboards in Damstra Insights allow users to collect, display, and share data using visuals, filters, and rich text snippets. With responsive layouts, dashboards adapt to various screen sizes—from large display boards to mobile devices—making data accessible and interactive for all users.
Steps:
1. Access the Dashboard Library
- Log into Damstra Insights with Creator permissions.
- From the top navigation banner or home page, go to Library → Dashboards.
- Click Add Dashboard to create a new dashboard.
2. Add content to your dashboard
You can add the following types of widgets:
Visuals
Add New Visual: Create a local visual unique to this dashboard.
Changes to local visuals do not affect other dashboards.
Add Existing Visual: Use a visual from the Visual Gallery.
Changes to gallery visuals update across all dashboards using them.

Rich Text Snippets
Click Add Rich Text Snippet to include formatted text, links, or images that provide context to your visuals.

Filter Snippets
Click Add Filter Snippet to create interactive filters that link visuals based on custom values and fields.

3. Save your dashboard
- Click Save Dashboard
- Accept the default name or enter a custom name
- Your dashboard will be saved in the Dashboard Library
4. Continue editing and customizing
After saving, you can:
- Add more visuals, rich text, or filter snippets
- Rearrange widgets using the responsive layout
- Modify, copy, export, or delete visuals
- Filter data directly within visuals
- Share or delete the dashboard
Tips:
- Use local visuals for testing and custom analysis
- Use gallery visuals for consistency across dashboards
- Add rich text snippets to guide users and provide context
- Use filter snippets to create dynamic, interactive dashboards
