User Group Profiles in Ideagen Safety
🧭 OVERVIEW
User Group Profiles allow you to manage access levels across the Ideagen Safety platform. This feature gives you granular control over what information a user can view or modify.
These profiles can be assigned to one or more users and are often tailored to reflect the responsibilities of specific roles within your organization.
🛠️Accessing User Group Profiles
-
Navigate to Settings via the Profile icon in the top menu bar.
-
Expand the Users section.
-
Select User Group Profile.
📋 Viewing Existing User Groups
The User Group Profiles table displays all current groups.
To create a new group, click Add.
🏗️Creating a User Group Profile
-
Enter a Group Name and a clear Group Description.
-
Click Access Level to define permissions.
🔐Setting Permissions
You'll see a hierarchical view of your system’s modules and sections.
⚠️ Note: User Group Profiles do not control site access. Site permissions are configured separately during user setup.
🚫Default Permissions
- New groups are set to No Access by default (shown with a red cross).
- These items are hidden from users in that group.
✏️Modifying Access
Click the red cross to cycle through available permissions:
-
W (Write Access): User can view and modify data.
-
R (Read-only Access): User can view data but not modify it.
-
✔ (Access): For items without read/write differentiation, this simply enables access.
🌿Parent and Child Permissions
- Changing access for a parent item will also affect its child items.
- For fine-grained control, expand parent items and set child item permissions individually.
Once all settings are configured, click Save. The profile is now available to assign to users in Ideagen Safety.
🌿Managing User Group Profiles
