Understanding site location edit options in the Tiks VMS Portal
This article explains the configurable options available when editing or creating a Site Location within the Tiks VMS Portal. This functionality is exclusive to users with Level 1 (Admin) access.

The Site Location edit interface allows administrators to define and configure key attributes of a location used for the Tiks VMS Portal, approvals, and visitor management.

Proper configuration ensures accurate record routing, streamlined approval processes, and compliance with site-specific requirements such as inductions and visitor approvals.
Key points
- Site name: Enter the name of the new Site Location.
- Address: Type the address to automatically locate it on the embedded map.
- Search: Use the search button to find the address manually.
- Record administrators: Add one or more email addresses (comma-separated) to designate who will receive approval/decline notifications from the Records module.
- Location user types: Specify whether the user is a Visitor, Contractor, or Staff.
- Checkboxes: Configure settings such as:
- Inductions (with a drop-down to set validity duration)
- Photo Site Location Active
- Visitor Approval Process enabled
- Current time zone: Select the appropriate time zone for the location.
- Date format: Use the format DD/MM/YYYY.
- Save: Click the colored Save button to finalize the setup. The new Site Location will then appear in the list.
