The skills matrix is a summary report showing employee skills based on worksite settings. It helps users assess workforce abilities, spot skill gaps, and supports workforce planning, compliance, and skill development by providing a central view of employee qualifications.
This article outlines how to access and use the skills matrix, highlighting its main sections and features.
1. Accessing the matrix
To access the skills matrix:
- Open the menu on the left.
- Select Skills matrix.
- Choose the worksite(s) for which to run a report.
2. Navigating the matrix
The matrix consists of several areas.
2.1. View tab
This tab displays a summary of skills matrix reports.
You can use the dropdown to choose from saved and active matrices.
2.1.1. Analysis of summary
Shows counts of:
- Selected employees and skills
- Valid, expired, restricted, quarantined, and archived skills
- Skills expiring in the next 90 days
- Users can click on any skill status category in the summary.
- Clicking on a category (e.g., “Valid”) opens a report showing only employees with that specific skill status.
- This feature streamlines monitoring and reporting of employee qualifications.
2.1.2. Skills matrix table
Displays employee details and skill statuses. Includes:
- Employee name (linked to profile)
- Crew, department, medical expiry, DOB, last site visit, company info, job title, drug/alcohol test results, induction expiry
- Skill name, code, level, dates, and status (color-coded)
2.1.3. Summary section
Totals for:
- Competency levels
- Validity and expiry
- Progress and start status
- Archived and quarantined skills
- Percentage of valid skills
- Skills expiring this year
2.2. Saved matrixes tab
Quick view of saved matrices per worksite. Includes:
- Matrix name (clickable)
- Worksite name
- Visibility settings
- Default matrix indicator
- Creation and update details
- Actions: Copy, Share, Delete
2.2.1. Deleted matrixes tab
Displays deleted matrices with:
- Matrix and worksite name
- Visibility
- Creation and deletion details
- Revert button to restore deleted matrices
