Cleaning procedure for terminal and equipment

Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of Ideagen equipment is essential for reliable operation and hygiene standards.
This article covers three main device types currently provided: Ideagen Terminals, Portable Terminals, and Visitor Terminals.
1. Applicable models
The following cleaning procedures apply to:
- Ideagen Terminals (DT-MK1, DT-MK2, DT-MK2P, DT-MK2.5, DT-MK2.75)
- Ideagen Portable Terminals (DT-PTMK2)
- Ideagen Visitor Terminals (DT-VTMK2)
2. Cleaning procedure
2.1. Biopod (Finger scanner)
This component is found in:
- Ideagen Terminals
- Ideagen Visitor Terminals
- Ideagen Portable Terminals
Do not wipe directly. To avoid damaging functionality, place hand sanitizer nearby and require users to clean hands before and after scanning.
2.2. Touchscreen
This component is found in:
- Ideagen Terminals
Apply household glass cleaner and water to a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Gently wipe the touchscreen. Immediately dry with a second soft cloth.
2.3. Terminal Decal
This component is found in:
- Ideagen Terminals
Use methylated spirits or isopropyl alcohol on a cloth. Wipe the decal surface. Dry immediately with a soft cloth.
2.4. Sticker Printer
This component is found in:
- Ideagen Terminals
- Ideagen Visitor Terminals
Apply isopropyl or ethyl alcohol-based cleaner to a cloth. Wipe the body and screen. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
2.5. Visitor Terminal
This component is found in:
- Ideagen Visitor Terminals
Apply isopropyl alcohol to a lint-free cloth or cotton swab. Wipe exterior surface and screen. Dry immediately with a soft cloth.
2.6. Portable Terminal Tablet
This component is found in:
- Ideagen Portable Terminals
Use ammonium chloride or peroxide-based cleaner on a microfiber cloth. Wipe the full surface. Dry immediately with a soft cloth.
2.7. Bluetooth Sticker Printer
This component is found in:
- Bluetooth sticker printer
Apply isopropyl or ethyl alcohol-based cleaner to a cloth. Wipe body and screen thoroughly. Dry immediately with a soft cloth.
When cleaning:
- Do not use cleaning solutions containing acetone, nitric acid, or ammonia.
- Never apply cleaning agents directly to equipment surfaces. Always apply the cleaner to a cloth first.
- Always use soft, non-abrasive, lint-free cloths for cleaning.
