Enhancements of Observations in Safety
Adding Observations directly in Safety
Until now, new Observations could only be registered via the Safety Web Portal or Notify mobile app. We have now added an ability to register new Observations directly in Safety's Observations register.
This ability is controlled by a new separate user group access permission that can be found in Settings > User > User Group Profiles > Edit Group Access. We have switched it on for all existing User Group Profiles that already have permission to edit Observations.
We have also allowed editing the details of the Reporter in existing Observations (both type and name).
Audit Log for Observations
We have added an Audit Log to the Observations register, which will be capturing changes in Observations from now onwards (new and updated Observations).
The access to the Audit Log is controlled by a new separate user group access permission that can be found in Settings > User > User Group Profiles > Edit Group Access. We have switched it on for all existing User Group Profiles that currently have permission to view or edit Observations.
Note that because of the introduction of the Audit Log tab, the observation details are now displayed in a separate Observation Details tab as you can see in the picture above. You can control access to this tab via Settings as well.
Synchronising Observations from Forms to Safety
Note that this change only applies to clients who use an integrated Damstra system that includes EPP, Safety and Forms.
We have added an ability to register Observations in Damstra Forms, which will then send these Observations to Safety.
Synchronising Observations Categories and Classification from Safety into Forms
Before you start adding Observations in Forms, you will need to synchronise existing Observation Categories and Classifications from Safety into Forms. For that, go to Safety > Settings > Compliance > Observations, set up your Categories and Classifications as needed and click "Sync Data to Forms".
Adding Observations in Forms and synchronising these into Safety
In Forms, you will need to use a Safety Observation template that has an ability to send data to Safety (please reach out to your Damstra contact for assistance). Once a form based on this template is filled and saved, the data will be automatically sent to Safety and become available in the Observations register.
