Installing a fingerprint scanner replacement

This article walks you through the process of installing a replacement fingerprint scanner.

1. Preparation

You will need the following components and tools to complete this install:

To install the scanner:

Turn off all power to the Terminal.
Open Terminal Cabinet.
On the bottom right-hand corner of the door, locate the Fingerprint Scanner, and unscrew the nut holding the Fingerprint Scanner in.

Once the nut has been unscrewed, please slide the plate off.
Gently push out the Fingerprint Scanner (please be advised that it may be hot glued in).

Carefully disconnect the cable from the Fingerprint Scanner and using the same cable reattach it to the replacement Fingerprint Scanner.
Position the Fingerprint Scanner back into the cutout and slide the holding plate back and tighten up the nut.
Please lock the terminal up and power up the terminal, the Fingerprint Scanner should light up red, please confirm its operation by logging in or out.
