This article walks you through the process of installing a replacement card reader.

1. Preparation

You will need the following components and tools to complete this install:

• Terminal key
• Card Reader
• Zip ties
• Cutters

2. Installation

To install the card reader:

1. Turn off all power to the terminal.
2. Open Terminal Cabinet.
3. Please locate the USB cable labelled “Card” and unplug it from the mini PC.

4. On the bottom left-hand corner of the door, locate the card reader

5. Please cut the zip ties in holding the loom and proceed to unwrap it.

6. Once unwrapped please remove the card reader and insert the replacement, running the cable back along.
7. Please re-loom the cables and zip tie it back into place.
8. Plug the new card reader into the previous USB port.
9. Please lock the terminal up and power up the terminal, the Card Reader should light up red and beep.
10. Once the terminal has completed starting up please confirm its operation by taping a Damstra ID fob or card.

3. Returning components

Please arrange to ship the replaced components to:
