Managing login passwords in Ideagen Safety
Ideagen Safety provides several options for managing user passwords.
1. Resetting Your Own Password (Forgotten Password)
If you cannot log in because you have forgotten your password:
- On the Ideagen Safety login screen, click "Forgotten your Password".
- Enter your registered email address.
- A password reset link will be sent to your email with further instructions.
2. Changing Your Password While Logged In
If you are already logged in to Ideagen Safety:
- Click the profile icon at the top of the screen.
- Select "Change Password".
- Enter your current password, then your new password (following the displayed requirements), and confirm it.
3. Changing Another User’s Password (Admins Only)
If you have the required permissions:
- Go to Settings > Users > User Authorisation.
- Locate the target user and click Actions > Edit.
- Enter a new password for the user.
Note: If you do not see the Edit option, your account does not have sufficient permissions. Contact your system administrator if you believe this is in error.
4. Sending a Password Reset Link for Another User
If your Ideagen Safety system is configured for users to manage their own passwords:
- You will see a "Send Password Reset Link" button instead of the option to manually set a password.
- Clicking this button will send reset instructions to the user’s registered email.
5. Enabling or Disabling Password Change by Admins
To configure whether admins can change passwords directly:
- Go to Settings > Security.
- Tick "Allow Admins to change users’ passwords" to enable direct password changes.
Untick this option to send password reset links instead.
